CMS approves three organizations as accrediting bodies for advanced medical imaging
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that the American College of Radiology (ACR), the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC); and The Joint Commission (TJC) have been designated accrediting organizations for medical imaging facilities, able to satisfy all accreditation requirements for providers of advanced medical imaging mandated by the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (MIPPA).
