The success of the 1999 Annual Meeting of the AAPM is due to the tireless efforts of many people who have dedicated themselves over the past months to the development of a superior scientific and educational experience for the members of the Society. On behalf of the Scientific Program Director, Maryellen Giger, Ph.D., the Scientific Program Co-Director, Eric Klein, M.S., the Education Program Director, Jerry Allison, Ph.D., and the Local Arrangements Committee Chair, Ron Price, Ph.D., I would like to offer our thanks to the many people who have contributed to the program and to the success of this year's meeting in Nashville.

In addition, I would like to extend our thanks to the Abstract Reviewers, Invited Speakers, Symposia Moderators, Session Chairs, Continuing Education Course Directors, and members of the Local Arrangements Committee for their contributions towards a successful and informative meeting. Also, the Headquarters staff helps in all aspects of the meeting from processing abstracts to making sure that the arrangements with the hosting cities are properly completed so that those of us who attend will have the best possible environment to learn and visit with our colleagues. Their contributions are very much appreciated.

Lastly, my predecessor as Program Committee Chairman deserves much credit for his work over several years to establish the overall structure for the program. I owe Robert G. Gould, Sc.D., thanks for leaving me a well-organized committee and look forward to continuing the fine tradition he has established.
