Arthur G. Haus is a Medical Physicist and is President of A.H. Medical Imaging Consulting, LLC. Previously he was Director of Medical Physics in Health Imaging at Eastman Kodak Company. Before joining Kodak he worked for many years at the University of Chicago as Senior Scientist and Research Associate, and as Assistant Professor of Radiology and Physics at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, Texas. His research interests have been on studies optimizing image quality while maintaining low radiation dose to the patient in medical imaging procedures including mammography, angiography, tomography, chest radiography and radiation therapy. Arthur Haus has authored over 100 publications and 20 book chapters in the field of radiology and medical imaging. He is co-author of the textbook “Basics of Film Processing in Medical Imaging” and editor of the textbooks “The Physics of Medical Imaging: Recording System Measurements and Techniques”, “Film Processing in Medical Imaging”, “Advances in Film Processing Systems Technology and Quality Control in Medical Imaging, and co-editor of the Radiological Society of North America Categorical Course in Physics: Physical Aspects of Breast Imaging Syllabus. Arthur Haus has a U.S patent on “Portal Radiographic Imaging. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (Emeritus), the Society for Imaging Science and Technology, Honorary Fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging, and an Honorary Member of the American College of Medical Physics. He is also a member of numerous professional and scientific organizations and committees including the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements and the American College of Radiology Mammography Accreditation, Interpretive Skills Assessment and Quality Assurance Committees.
Arthur Haus has been married to his wife Sandra for 47 years. They have two children Timothy A. Haus, Factoryville, PA and Kristin M. Niles, Westerville, OH and four grandchildren Connor, Madison and Karissa Niles and Sophie Haus.
Arthur Haus is currently Head Boys and Girls Tennis Coach at Buckeye Valley High School, Delaware, OH. He is a certified USTA and ITA tennis official. He serves as tennis official at The Ohio State University women’s home tennis matches as well as at other college and USTA tennis tournaments. He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, coaching and playing tennis, skiing, kayaking and photography.
