Career:
Dr. X Allen Li is a currently a Professor and Chief of Medical Physics at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  Previous faculty appointments include Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Ottawa, in Ottawa Canada, Assistant Professor of Medical Physics and Radiation Oncology at Rush University in Chicago IL, and as an Assistant and Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland, in Baltimore MD. 

Dr. Li is an Associate Editor for Medical Physics Journal as well as a reviewer for 12 peer-reviewed journals.  Dr. Li has served as a research grant reviewer for the US Department of Energy, National Institutes of Health, US Civilian Research and Development Foundation, the Florida Department of Health, Canada Research Chairs, and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). 

Dr. Li is a member of five professional organizations.  As a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), he has served multiple times as an abstract reviewer and Section Chair for its annual conferences. As a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), he is currently serving as an abstract reviewer, Section Chair, invited speaker for annual conferences, Chair of Task Group 166, a member of Task Groups 74 and 106, and as a member of the Therapy Emerging Technology Assessment Working Group and a member of the Biological Effects Subcommittee. As a member of the American Board of Radiology (ABR) he currently serves as an oral examiner and as the Chair of the ABR MOC Cognitive Exam Committee for Therapeutic Radiological Physic.  Dr. Li is also a board member of the Sino-American Network for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (SANTRO) having served as the Co-chair of the Scientific Committee.  He is also serving as a Board Member for the North American Chinese Medical Physicist Association (NACMPA).

Dr. Li has been an invited speaker to 21 international and 22 national presentations. He has authored over 140 peer review articles and 10 book chapters, many of those as first or senior author.  Dr. Li is the editor of the recently published book, Adaptive Radiation Therapy. Dr. Li has also been involved in well over 250 abstracts, many of them mentoring junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and medical and physics residents.  Dr. Li has been instrumental in bringing radiation oncology physics research to the Medical College of Wisconsin, mentoring over 19 researchers through the establishment of the Medical Physics Postdoctoral Research Program and the CAMPEP-accredited Physics Residency program.
