AAPM is once again offering a smart device app for the 2013 AAPM Annual Meeting that allows off-line access to the Scientific Program, Committee Schedule, Exhibitor maps and much more. New this year is the opt-in ability to message one another directly through the app much like a message center. For the security of the attendees, the app has been password protected and the password will only be given to registered attendees. CMS Proposes Coverage of Alzheimer’s PET Scans Used Only in Clinical Trials
According to a recent proposed coverage decision, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that Medicare will pay only for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tests to help diagnose Alzheimer’s when patients are in clinical trials.
