The Ethics Committee of the AAPM exists to advise the Professional Council and, through it, the Board of Directors, on matters relating to the ethical practice of medical physics. Among the Committee's responsibilities are to prepare guidelines on the ethical practice of medical physics and prepare and maintain procedures for resolving ethical problems. Both the guidelines and the procedures are embedded in the Code of Ethics which is published to the membership as Professional Policy number 24.

The current version of the Code of Ethics is due for sunset in 2017. Task Group 109 has been charged with reviewing the current language of the Code, determining whether revisions are needed, and drafting the language of any recommended revisions. This talk describes the current state of the Code and the TG and is meant by the TG to be a solicitation to the membership of any and all feedback, kudos or concerns.

Learnings Objectives:
1. Review the historical context for the AAPM's Code of Ethics
2. Have some familiarity with the structure and intent of the current Code
3. Understand the process of review and possible revision of the Code currently being
undertaken by TG-109.
