Dose calculations are at the heart of radiation therapy and thus, the verifications of the dose calculations are an important part in radiation therapy. Independent secondary dose calculations, commonly referred to as secondary Monitor Unit (MU) checks, have long been established as the way to verify dosimetry calculations. The primary goal of the secondary dose calculation is to prevent dose delivery errors to the patient by verifying the number of MU calculated by the Treatment Planning System (TPS) are consistent with those generated by the secondary check program. In the days of 2D planning and simple 3D planning, a simple hand calculation would suffice, but as the complexity of the plans have evolved (IMRT, VMAT) so must the secondary dose calculation programs. The different types of secondary dose calculation programs and methodologies will be discussed in the guided tours. The tour groups will visit the exhibit booths of vendors who provide appropriate dosimeters, and a vendor representative will give a presentation to the group about their particular product(s). The vendor representatives as well as the Tour Guides will be available to answer questions.

Learning Objectives:
1. Gain familiarity of the different secondary dose check programs commercially available.
2. Understand the types and properties of the different secondary dose check programs.
3. How will it fit my workflow?
