Sunday, July 23
BOSTON HIGHLIGHTS:
1:00-4:30 pm

Focus on some of the most noteworthy, historic
areas of Boston. Includes Old Boston's Beacon Hill homes, Copley
Square's Trinity Church and the Public Library. Visit important
colonial and revolutionary war sites along Freedom Trail, such as
Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, Old North Church and the Old State
House. Contrast with the high fashion of Newbury Street and its
eclectic art galleries.
JOHN F. KENNEDY LIBRARY AND MUSEUM:
1:00-5:00 pm

Designed by I.M. Pei,
the majestic library rises above Dorchester Bay, providing a
spectacular view of the sea and the Boston skyline. Inside, the
magical moments of 'Camelot' come alive again. A special
exhibit on Robert Kennedy is also included.

Monday, July 24
HOSPITALITY SUITE "MIXER" AND SECURITY TALK:

Hospitality Suite "Mixer" and Security Talk: Registered
companions and kids can enjoy a continental breakfast while
meeting others attending the meeting. Anyone can come by to see
what independent tours are available or pick up information on
getting around the city. A representative from the Boston Police
Department will also present a short presentation on security in

BOSTON DUCK TOUR:

Take a two hour adventure through
Boston - by land and water. The fun begins as you board your
"Duck," an authentic renovated World War II amphibious landing
vehicle, right in front of the Sheraton. You'll cruise by famous
landmarks and then SPLASH DOWN into the Charles River for a
unique waterside view of Boston. Children 12 and under must be
accompanied by an adult.

Walking Tour and Interior of a Beacon Hill Home:

Tuesday, July 25
5k RUN/WALK:
6:00 - 8:30 am
$15/$15
Join the rowers, sailors and rollerbladers along
the scenic Charles River. MIT and the Arthur Fiedler Hatch Shell
provide the backdrop for this year's run/walk along the banks of the
river. The race will include AAPM members and will feature prizes
for open, masters and a special intersociety team category. Great
looking race T-shirt, fresh air and exercise are a given for this event!
HISTORIC LEXINGTON AND CONCORD:
9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Walk along Lexington Green,
site of the historic battle between the Minutemen and the invading
British army and where the "shot heard round the world" marked the
start of the Revolutionary War. In Concord, see the Old North Bridge
and walk along Walden Pond. Visit Author's Row that includes the
homes of Louisa May Alcott, Thoreau, Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne.
CHARLES RIVER/BOSTON HARBOR CRUISE:
1:30 - 4:30 pm

Enjoy the architectural
landscape of Boston and Cambridge from the unique perspective
of the Charles River. This covered boat tour of both cities' skylines
is narrated by an engaging Landscape Architect. Tour begins at the
Charles River basin then proceeds into Boston Harbor and past the USS Constitution.
CENTENNIAL NIGHT at the MUSEUM OF SCIENCE:
5:30-11:00 pm

This
year's event will no doubt be very special, so please plan to attend.
Buses will begin shuttling people from the Sheraton to the Musuem
at 5:30 pm and the musuem will open at 6:30 pm. The nearby
Galleria Mall boasts a large food court and Sports Museum for
dinner and browsing. At the Museum dessert and coffee are included;
a cash bar will also be available. Visit the special exhibit, "X is for
X-ray," or the ever popular lightning show. Buses will be circulating
to and from the Sheraton throughout the evening.
Wednesday, July 26
Golf Tournament at Wayland Country Club:

HARVARD UNIVERSITY AND CAMBRIDGE:
8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Starts with a drive by the
Radcliffe Yard and along Tory Row to the 300 year old Hooper-
Lee-Nichols house. Tour the historical Longfellow Mansion and
Gardens. Stroll through Harvard Yard and visit Memorial Hall
and the Widener Library. Finish at the Harvard University
Botanical Musuem with a visit to the world famous "Blaschka"
Glass Flower exhibit.
HISTORIC SALEM AND SEAFARING MARBLEHEAD:
9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Historic Salem and Seafaring Marblehead: In Salem, revisit our
colonial past with a trip to the Witch Museum, recounting true
events that occurred during the famed witch trials of 1692, and then on to
the Peabody Essex Musuem. Visit the fishing port of Marblehead, with
views of its busy yachting harbor and the Boston skyline. Quaint and
crooked streets lead you to the famous painting The Spirit of 1776 on
display at Abbot Hall. Lunch on your own on Pickering Wharf overlooking
Massachusetts Bay.

Tour begins with a drive along the
New England coast; upon arrival you will be given a guided tour
of the famous L.L. Bean Factory Showroom. Armed with maps
of Main Street, you will have plenty of time to shop at more than
100 outlets within walking distance, including: Anne Klein, Banana
Republic, Coach, Corning, Dansk, Donna Karan, Joan & David,
Reebok, Rockport, Timberland, etc., etc., etc. Lunch on your own.

Friday, July 28
TECHNICAL TOUR AT MIT FACILITIES (CAMBRIDGE AND MIDDLETON)
8:30 am - 5:30 pm
$15/$20
Buses will take you to MIT's Cambridge campus where you will
tour the new Fusion Research Laboratory and Research Reactor
where neutron beams will soon be used to treat cancer patients
via boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). Lunch on your own
in the Campus Center with time to browse the shops. Buses will
then take you to MIT's Bates LINAC for a tour of this high energy
electron accelerator and detector halls.

WHALE WATCH OFF CAPE ANN:
11:00 am - 6:30 pm

All aboard the "Yankee Fleet,"
chosen "Best Bet" for whale watching by New England
Living Magazine, for a whale watch excursion out of Gloucester.
Atlantic Cetacean Research Center Scientists provide pre-trip
orientation and are on board each vessel to make expert commentary
