K-12 Education Internet Resource List
Hermes Systems Management
is a technology consulting company who has
contributed to the AAPMnet project. Besides work for the medical
and business communities, Hermes works extensively with K-12
education, giving a portion of their revenue to the education
community.
The following is a list of World Wide Web
sites that they have found of interest to children, parents of children,
and educators for K-12. A number of these sites involve physics,
science, and mathematics.
- Kid's Web
- Lists by subject area and topic a number of interesting Internet
sites for kids.
- Science
On-Line - Science Information Infrastruture Project to provide a list of
interesting science sites on the Internet.
- AskERIC - ERIC is an attempt
to provide education resources and studies for K-12 educators.
- The Hub - Web site to collect
Internet resources for math and science education
- Yahoo K-12
listing - A listing of education sites that Yahoo has found (a program
dedicated to finding and categorizing as many web sites as possible).

CERN Virtual Library for Education - CERN's attempt to create a
virtual library out of World Wide Web sites; this is the education
listing.
- Virtual
Library gopher site - A gopher (an older Internet protocol for
distributing information like World Wide Web) site that includes a
virtual reference library.
- JASON
Project - A virtual journey to volcanoes, marine habitats, Mayan
ruins, coral reefs, and more.

Map reading - Aids for teachers to teach map reading.
- Exploratorium - Web site for
the Exploratorium museum in San Francisco, dedicated to science
education for kids and site of a recent AAPM party.

that provide public information.
