Rationale There are times when an AAPM group would like to break into several subgroups to address a certain topic or program. The subgroup is not producing a report, rather reporting to its parent its outcomes or recommendations. The creation of a Unit allows the participants to communicate via an email alias, schedule GoToMeetings, and use the committee tree tools. Definition of a Unit A Unit is a formal subset of any AAPM group. Its purpose is to give the subgroup the administrative tools they need to take on a subtask of the parent group. Restrictions The roster of a Unit must consist of a subset of the parent. Units have no budget and cannot be allocated revenue nor expense. Units have no authority. Everything must go through the parent.
