Career:
I began work as an aerospace scientist from 9/61 to 2/63 at N.A.S.A., Lewis Research Center, Cleveland, OH in the Radiation Shielding Section. I calculated energy deposition rates of neutrons and x-rays in a hydrogen propellant tank for a nuclear rocket and calculated radiation dose to astronaut crews on typical missions. From 2/63 to 9/66 I was atUniversity Hospitals in Cleveland as a research assistant. I performed biophysics research and did an experimental study of energy dissipation of electrons in metals on a pulsed Van de Graff generator. After obtaining my MS degree at Rutgers, I returned to Cleveland as the Radiation Safety Officer for both Case-Western Reserve University and University Hospital from 9/67 to 8/68. There I directed the health physics program involving radioisotopes, accelerators, and neutron generators. Additionally, I assisted in all the radiology sections as a medical physicist and taught Radiology residents and technicians.

From 8/68 to 12/73 I was Vice-President of Bionucleonics, Inc. of which I was co-founder and co-owner. It was located in Fanwood, NJ. There I directed the technical activities of six radiological physicists. I also performed medical physics duties in radiology, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy as a consultant at various community hospitals in NJ and CT. From 1/74 to 9/75 I worked as the Chief Physicist at the Veterans Administration Hospital, East Orange, NJ where I performed treatment planning and equipment calibration in Radiotherapy and quality control activities in Diagnostic Radiology. I was also the Radiation Safety Officer for this 1,300 bed hospital.

On 9/22/75 I joined St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ as Chief Physicist. I supervise four physicists and three dosimetrists in a 1,000 patients/year, three accelerator, Radiation Oncology Department .We are doing IMRT, IVB, HDR, prostate seeds and radiosurgery. I am also the Radiation Safety Officer for the hospital. I engage in a variety of research activities and administration and have taught Diagnostic Radiology and Radiation Oncology residents and all types of technologists. I occasionally supervise Ph.D. and M.S. students from Rutgers University and the N.J. Institute of Technology.
