Air Travel

Most convenient airports are

  1. Baltimore Washington International (BWI) - about 25 minutes away by cab. OR for the hardy few who don't mind public transportaton, the BWI Express B30 Bus is an option between BWI and the Greenbelt metro station. The cost is $7.00 (cash, exact change.) Once you arrive at the Greenbelt metro station, you could (a) take a cab to the hotel or American Center for Physics or (b) ride metro for 1 stop to the College Park station and walk .3 miles to the American Center for Physics.

  2. Reagan National (DCA) - about 35 minutes away by cab; or take metro
American Center for Physics is a 7-minute walk from the College Park stop on the Green Line. As you exit the station with River Road in front of you, turn right and walk about .3 miles to the 5-story white building on your right.
  3. Washington Dulles International (IAD) - about 50 minutes away or more; potentially brutal traffic.

Train Travel

If you are traveling on the east coast, the closest stop is the New Carrollton station on Amtrak. The station is about 10 minutes away by cab.
