Charge

a. To provide an overview on the general approach to clinical implementation and testing of MC-based planning systems. b. To provide educational information on the types of beam models used in MC-based treatment planning for photon and electron beams. c. To discuss the expected tradeoffs between the various beam model approaches. d. To provide general guidelines for the acceptance testing and commissioning of an MC based treatment planning system. e. To identify the important issues for consideration in commissioning of beam models and to discuss various verification strategies and experimental techniques to assure a comprehensive and accurate beam model commissioning process. f. To provide specific recommendations on methods and practical procedures to commission clinical beam models for Monte Carlo dose calculation systems.
