A Guide to Resources and Opportunities
This web page is a guide to the available resources.
Information on all AAPM programs and activities is available on the web at www.aapm.org. This web site is open to all but some specific programs and resources are restricted to AAPM Members and require an AAPM Member USERNAME and PASSWORD.
Many of the Educational Resources are also available to medical physicists in the Developing Countries. Access requires registration as a Developing Country Educational Associate (DCEA) and obtaining a Developing Country Educational Associate USERNAME and PASSWORD.
To become a DCEA submit the online registration form at Developing Country Educational Associate Registration.
A list of Developing Countries recognized by the AAPM is posted at AAPM Recognized Developing Countries.
Mouse over the map below to see the number of members and affiliates in countries outside of the US

Resources Available to Medical Physicists in Developing Countries
AAPM/IOMP Library Program
The AAPM/IOMP Library Program serves as a resource for medical physics and related communities in developing countries.
Developing Country Educational Associates (DCEA) have access to the following resources.
AAPM Virtual Library
The web-based Virtual Library contains many of the Continuing Education Courses presented at the AAPM Annual Meetings. Log into the Virtual Library and view the courses.
AAPM Summer School Proceedings
The Proceedings of the AAPM Summer Schools are available on CDs to Developing Country Educational Associates. Place an order.
The reports of the many AAPM Groups are available to all.
AAPM/IOMP Equipment Donation Program
The Equipment Donation Sub-Committee serves the joint partnership between AAPM and IOMP and works to ensure that available, working-order equipment is put to good use at clinics or educational institutions in low- and middle-income countries. Request or donate equipment.
The AAPM Journal Medical Physics Online
The flagship AAPM journal, Medical Physics, is published both in printed and online editions. The online edition is generally the most appropriate for international distribution. The Table of Contents and Abstracts are available for viewing by anyone at www.medphys.org. However, a subscription password is required to read the complete articles. Subscriptions to Medical Physics is included with all categories of membership.
The Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics (JACMP)
The Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics (JACMP) is an open-access journal, which publishes papers that will help clinical medical physicists perform their responsibilities more effectively and efficiently for the increased benefit of the patient. It is available for viewing by anyone at www.jacmp.org.
Membership in AAPM
Membership in AAPM is available to medical physicists in all countries.
There are several categories of AAPM membership, depending on ones qualifications (education and experience) and place of residence. Physicists from any country can apply for Full Member status but many not living in North America might find Corresponding Membership more appropriate. The different membership categories and the application process is described in the New Member Information.
The Partners in Physics Program (PIP) provides opportunities for physicists in the Developing Countries to have their application fee and dues waived. For information about the PIP contact the AAPM International Affairs Committee via email at 2018.IA@aapm.org.
AAPM International Educational Programs
AAPM provides, sponsors, or co-sponsors a variety of educational and training programs in cooperation with medical physics organizations throughout the world.
Each year the International Scientific Exchange Program (ISEP) provides Continuing Education courses on both therapeutic and diagnostic imaging physics in selected Developing Countries.
The international education programs are administered by the International Educational Activities Committee (IEAC). To communicate with the IEAC about the education programs please insert you message below.
