AAPM Awards Ceremony and Reception

Tickets are $14 per person. Please note that this ticket is included in some registration categories. Tickets may also be purchased on site at the AAPM Meeting registration area in the convention center.

The American Association of Physicists in Medicine will honor AAPM award winners during a ceremony followed by a wine and cheese reception on Monday, July 21. Please remember your tickets.

Dr. Charles Lescrenier Annual 5K Run/Walk sponsored by GAMMEX

Tuesday, July 22 • 6:00am start time; buses depart Convention Center at 5:15amJimmy Clay
Deadline to register is July 1. There is no on-site registration for this event.
Tickets are $20 per person, and includes a t-shirt. The 5K ticket will be offered as an option when you register for the meeting.

Registered participants must come by the AAPM Meeting registration area in the convention center on Monday, July 21, between 10:00am and 2:00pm, to sign a waiver and pick up a race number and t-shirt.

The run will take place on the Jimmy Clay Golf Course, 7.5 miles from downtown Austin. The 5K route will utilize the best surfaces on the course, while avoiding the greens and tee boxes. Click here for 5K course route. The course is hilly. Please hydrate before, during and after the run.

The GAMMEX 5K Run/Walk has been renamed the Dr. Charles Lescrenier Annual 5K Run/Walk in memory of Charles Lescrenier (1935-2011), founder and President of GAMMEX Inc. and one of the pioneers in the development of radiation quality assurance products.  Dr. Lescrenier will be remembered for his support of the medical physics profession and the AAPM. GAMMEX's longstanding support of the 5K Run/Walk began in 1981, the inaugural year of the event.

Women Physicists Luncheon

The AAPM Women Professionals Subcommittee (WPSC) would like to invite women physicists to participate in a unique networking event for women medical physicists during the annual meeting in Austin. This lunch event is designed to provide women physicists an opportunity to interact with each other and women leaders from clinical, academic, and industry settings. It is also an opportunity to network, discuss issues pertaining to women's professional development, and for you to share your ideas on how the WPSC can best serve your needs.

Lunch tickets will be offered as an option when you register for the meeting.

Night Out - Bob Bullock Texas State Museum

Tuesday, July 22 • 6:30pm - 10:00pm
Buses will begin departing from the Austin Convention Center, Trinity Street (near AAPM Registration) at 6:00 pm. The event will begin at 6:30 pm. Buses will loop continuously. Designated buses departing from the Night Out will stop at three locations:

  • Convention Center
  • Intercontinental, Driskill, Omni
  • Embassy Suites, Hyatt Regency

The Bullock Museum – the only place large enough to tell the whole "Story of Texas!" Explore the three floors of interactive exhibits in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. Enjoy the local favorite award winning nuevo flamenco/ world music band, Cadaques!

Austin is well known for food trucks, and we have the best local flavor lined up outside the museum:

      Exchange your Night Out ticket for a wrist band on Tuesday, July 22 at the following locations:
          • Member Services Desk
          • E & R Fund Donors’ Lounge
          • HQ Office/Hilton Austin
    • Each adult Night Out ticket will include 1 drink ticket, good for beer or a glass of wine. Once your ticket is used, cash will be accepted. Nonalcoholic drinks will not require a ticket.
    • This ticket is included in some registration categories. Tickets may also be purchased on-site at the AAPM registration desk.
