Policy text

Should the need arise to fund council activities that were not considered during the normal budget process, AAPM Council Chairs are authorized to approve the expenditure of funds, under the following conditions:

  1. The Chair expects that funding the activities will not cause the total expenses of the council to exceed the approved budget for the council;
  2. The total expenditure for all such activities is less than $20,000; and,
  3. The expenditures must be reported in a timely fashion to the Treasurer and Executive Director.

Should a similar need arise to fund non-budgeted activities within a committee reporting to the Board, Committee Chairs may recommend the expenditure of funds, under the following conditions:

  1. The Chair expects that funding the activities will not cause the total expenses of the committee to exceed the approved budget for the committee;
  2. The total expenditure for all such activities is less than $5,000; and,
  3. The expenditures must be approved by the Treasurer.

Should the council or committee activity funding requests not meet the conditions listed, the Council Chair (for Council activities) or the Treasurer (for committees that report to the Board) must take the request to the Executive Committee for consideration, under AP 25 - Executive Committee Expenditure of Funds
