  1. Collect and organize manufacturer-provided definitions and technical details of energy-saving modes into a structured, manufacturer-neutral reference resource
    • The resource can help clarify how different manufacturers define and implement energy-saving modes, reducing ambiguity and supporting consistent interpretation across institutions.
  2. Define, develop, and disseminate a practical approach for measuring transition times into and out of user-initiated (e.g. shutdown or bootup time) or configurable systems mode transitions (e.g. “low-power” or “sleep” mode).
    • While nominal transition times are specified by manufacturers, preliminary observations indicate these are not consistent across similar systems.
    • Quantifying transition times under real-world clinical scanner operation is crucial for end users to determine the appropriateness of energy-saving modes and operational strategies.
  3. Outline collaborative workflow for scanner/modality-specific clinical implementation of energy-savings modes.
    • Identify potential operational hurdles to implementation and provide recommendations on how to address these based on different clinical environments, such as emergency care and outpatient settings.
