| Activities | Prepare a report outlining educational recommendations for integrating Radiopharmaceutical Therapy into the curriculum for medical physicists. Provide a structured set of curriculum recommendations and competency-based amendments that may be incorporated into existing CAMPEP-accredited graduate and residency training pathways in Radiation Oncology (RO), Diagnostic Imaging (DI), and Nuclear Medicine (NM). The task group will also evaluate whether advanced or elective RPT-focused training pathways may be recommended for programs with substantial theranostics infrastructure and clinical volume. - Sample existing curricula and competencies applicable to any medical physics graduate and residency training program (regardless of sub-specialty) offering a nuclear medicine option and/or having an active radiopharmaceutical therapy program.
- Define RPT-specific competencies across dosimetry, radiation safety, radiobiology, instrumentation, and clinical workflow coordination.
- Develop a modular, didactic, competency-based curriculum adaptable to diverse graduate and residency program structures (academic medical centers, community hospitals, hybrid programs) and for varying expertise (baseline vs. advanced levels of expertise in RPT).
- Propose assessment frameworks and milestones to evaluate resident proficiency in RPT practice.
- Produce a white paper with recommended minimum RPT education and training hours, case volume benchmarks, and faculty/preceptor qualifications.
- Identify infrastructure and equipment requirements for RPT clinical training environments.
- Propose training frameworks that can be deployed within or beyond residency programs to achieve the desired level of expertise (baseline or advanced)
