Fluorescence-Guided Intervention Workgroup (WGFGI)

AAPM Members, Affiliates and Non-Member Affiliates - Login for access to additional information

Fluorescence guided interventional procedures are increasing in use, and can allow sensitive physician guidance in areas where there is not inherent absorption/scatter based contrast. The growth in commercial systems and their use has expanded rapidly in the last several years and yet there are few guidelines or specifications available for users. The dynamic range and resolution level of different imaging systems and the specificity and background issues of different molecular agents varies considerably. This working group would ideally determine which issues should have advice from a Medical Physics perspective and determine which recommendations should be made to help advance this emerging medical paradigm.
