Biological Effects Subcommittee (BESC) AAPM Members, Affiliates and Non-Member Affiliates - Login for access to additional information Activities Address the needs of the Radiation Therapy community concerning understanding and modeling of the biological outcome of radiation therapy. Including (but not limited to) effects of dose, dose rate, volume, time/fractionation, spatial fractionation, re-irradiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other relevant clinical factors. Review and manage technologies that use outcome model-based optimization and evaluation. Educate the AAPM membership and members of the radiation therapy community concerning dependence of tumor control and treatment tolerances on dose, volume, time, and other relevant factors.
