Activities
  1. Survey of ART Treatment Strategies and Dose Reporting Tools: Conduct a comprehensive survey of ART treatment strategies and dose reporting tools currently offered by vendors and utilized clinically by users. This survey will provide valuable insights into existing practices and identify areas that require improvement.
  2. Development of Safe Practice Guidelines for ART Treatment Management: Describe and recommend safe practices for ART treatment management, including treatment intent, record handling for daily/weekly/on-demand ART treatments, safe management of mixed ART-IGRT treatment workflows, and quality assurance procedures for ART treatment management. These guidelines will establish standardized protocols and ensure patient safety throughout the ART process.
  3. Establishment of Guidelines for Appropriate Dose Reporting: Describe appropriate dose reporting mechanisms for ART sessions, including session dose reporting, delivered dose based on tracking or dose accumulation methods. Additionally, recommend guidelines for commissioning, validation, and quality assurance of dose reporting tools. With clinical examples, describe optimal procedure for performing dose verification or dose-of-the-day (DOTD) for the delivered dose. These guidelines will address the challenges associated with assessing the real delivered dose from the entire ART treatment course and enable accurate planning for re-irradiation.
  4. Overview of Limitations and Future Innovations: Provide an overview of the current limitations in the safe management of ART and dose reporting. Identify potential future innovations and directions that can further enhance the safety and effectiveness of ART treatment and dose reporting. This forward-looking perspective will foster ongoing advancements in the field and guide future research efforts.
